Plasticizer

Special oils developed to impart flexibility and special properties like stain resistance to plastics, like PVC; they are added in the compounding step to the vinyl resin. The most common plasticizer used in vinyl is called DOP short for, dioctyl phthalate (pronounced “die-octil-thal-ate”).
