What makes an Amtico floor so good?

Along with its inherent beauty and integrity of design, all Amtico flooring features their world leading, world-exclusive flooring technology: Amtico MPS (Multi Performance System)

• Urethane Treatment:
  Super Tough surface for added scratch, scuff and stain resistance and lower maintenance.
• Performance Wear Layer 1:
  Ceramic impregnated for improved slip resistance and durability.
• Performance Wear Layer 2:
  High Density for resistance to indentation.
• Aesthetic Color Layer
  Totally realistic aesthetics created by their in-house design team.
• Backing Layer:
  A support layer providing a strong base for the aesthetic and performance layers.

 
In total, five layers make up an Amtico floor. Of these, the backing layer provides strong adhesion to the under-surface of the floor, as well as establishing a strong base for the aesthetic and performance layers. Importantly, the backing layer is formulated from production vinyl waste. Then there is the aesthetic color layer created by Amtico’s in-house design team, using a variety of techniques and effects including digitally enhanced photography that gives their flooring a unique realism that replicates the natural product. The remaining layers are dedicated to performance and this is what is called Amtico MPS.

 
Scratch, Scuff, and Stain Resistance

 
The super tough layer that provides a high level of scratch, scuff, and stain resistance (and makes it easier to keep clean. The unique manufacturing process also helps the product resist the damaging effects of light, preventing any “yellowing” of the finish.

 
Slip Resistance

 
Engineered ceramic particles provide Amtico floors with enhanced slip resistance. It works in a similar way to the technology used in industrial safety flooring, found in the most demanding commercial environments. The particles will also enhance the appearance of the Amtico floor, giving a more natural matte texture rather than a gloss finish, as well a providing further protection against discoloration.

 
Water Resistance

 
The unique raw materials used in the make-up of the Amtico tile composition are of the highest quality. Amtico is less reliant on plasticizers than other flooring manufacturer’s products. This unique product composition gives Amtico its water resistant properties.

 
Dent Resistant

 
The MPS layer is made up of very dense material and, as well as providing excellent clarity to show the full beauty of the aesthetic layer, offers extremely high resistance to indentation. Amtico floors perform exceptionally well in instances of high-point loading (chair legs and high healed shoes, for example).

 
Unique Realism

 
The aesthetic color layer is created by Amtico International’s in-house design team. Their designers use either digitally enhanced photography with high definition printing to give their flooring its totally realistic appearance, or a variety of techniques and effects to create such an amazing flooring portfolio.
