About Lynne Miyake
Lynne Miyake began her career as in interior designer in 1989, at Intradesign, Inc., a high-end hospitality and residential design firm. During her tenure there, she was involved in many international and national hotel projects including Shutters Hotel on the Beach, and a large-scale residential project for Prince Bandar in Aspen, Colorado. It was here that she met Richard Mayhew, and in 1991, began working for Mayhew Design, on the Hotel Hankyu International project in Osaka, Japan, as well as locally here on “La Lantern”, a residential project located in Bel Air, California.
In 1995, Lynne focused her energies towards high-end residential projects, and worked for Enos & Co., Inc., specializing in construction and renovation-type projects, as well as decorating projects. There she grew as a design assistant, to Sr. Designer and Office Manager, with responsibilities including supervising staff, and interacting with clients and vendors, as well as conceiving and conceptualizing color and material direction on all projects. Some of the more notable projects that she was involved in was a 7,000 sq. ft. residential renovation project for Vanessa Williams, in Chappaqua, New York, and a remodel for Michael Feinstein, in Los Angeles, California. On several other projects, Ms. Miyake was responsible for the construction drawings and specifications of the interiors, and conceptualizing the furnishings package. It was here that she discovered her true passion and talent for creating a project from start to finish.
Miyake Interiors, Inc. was opened in 1999 to primarily spotlight her talents and concentrated her efforts primarily on new construction or renovation-type projects that required her attention to detail, organization, and client, contractor, and vendor management skills. In 2001, she completed the Sweet Residence, and McNicholas Residence, both 7,000 sq. ft. new construction projects located in Malibu, California, and the DeSa Residence, a 20,000 sq. ft. project in Rye, New York. In 2003, Ms. Miyake completed the Schaeffer Residence, in Beverly Hills. The Westbrook Residence, a 7,000 sq. ft. residence in Arroyo Grande, was also completed in 2006. On several of her projects, she was also involved in designing, selecting, and purchasing the furnishings portion of the project.
Ms. Miyake’s continued goal is to bring her knowledge and expertise, along with her professionalism and dedication to all levels of her business, and to create beautiful, and soulfully warm interiors that are inviting, luxurious, and comfortable. She maintains that her work is always client-driven, and it is important to work side-by-side with the owners so they ultimately are satisfied with the outcome, and an integral part of the overall experience.
Ms. Miyake is affiliated with ASID, and is a Certified Interior Designer, and has been an interior designer for almost 20 years. She also loves wine tasting, travel, movies, music, and writing.
